A free game like GTA Online, right in your browser

If what you want from GTA Online is a city full of other players, cars to take and cops who come after you, WEEP WORLD gives you that in a browser tab. It's free, there's nothing to install and you don't make an account to start.

What carries over

You walk the street, take a car and drive. Pull a robbery and the wanted meter starts climbing. One star is two beat cops who have to actually see you. Five stars is SWAT, federal agents and helicopters that know where you are. Find somewhere to lay low and the heat burns off one star at a time.

The city is shared. The other people on the street are other players, and you can see who's online and talk to them.

What's different

Getting caught has a cost. County lockup has its own map with a yard, two cell blocks and a chow hall. You can pay bail, sit out the sentence or pick the lock on the main gate. Your businesses run at half rate while you're inside.

Money builds into something. You buy businesses and then the things that supply them. A bakery buying flour, water and power at retail makes a little. Own the mill and the well behind it and the same shop earns close to three times as much.

And the players decide what gets built next. In the People's Hall you put up an idea and vote on everyone else's. The top three each week become the build queue.

How big it is

Sixteen connected maps: Grandview downtown, the Florida Keys, two interstates, the Strip and Old Vegas, an atoll, open ocean, the deep, the Wildwood, the front line and a county lockup among them. You drive out of one and into the next, or fly between cities from the airport.
